IISAC’s SUMMER IN KERALA PROGRAM FOR THE MALAYALEE DIASPORA

DISCOVER AND EXPERIENCE YOUR ORIGIN

The second and third generation of the Indian Diaspora –the group of Malayalees growing in USA,Canada,Singapore,Malaysia,South Africa and the Middle East are unaware of Kerala, their ancestral land,its beauty, culture and history .


IISAC’s Summer in Kerala program is a golden opportunity for the younger generation in US high schools to discover their origin and immerse in Kerala culture, develop leadership skills, visit historical landmarks, monuments, visit places of pristine charm, experience Art of living in India through cuisines, yoga, meditation, music, art and drama etc


Unique features

  • 16 days of transforming experience in Kerala through structured leadership seminars by experts and professors, nature activities, wild life exploration, visit of historical and religious monuments and museums in the districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Alleppey, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Idukki
  • Early morning experience of the Art of Living in India through yoga, meditation, dance and music. High levels of individual attention and engaging lessons
  • Organized bonding team activities among the participants and the peer group of the host country through cultural exchange, games, group activities, camping, cuisine experience, riddles and jokes
  • Specialized instructions in Malayalam language, Blog writing, Travel Diary etc
  • Discussions and debates on cultural roots, religious beliefs and practices.

Through this program, US high school students are provided with a number of practical skills for their future occupations. They can choose from a wide range of internships, volunteering, service –learning and short term work that will direct them in career development. Students will have the additional advantage of knowing another culture through the experiential program of their choice.


This program is organized by IISAC in collaboration with the Cultural/ Religious organizations for batches of 10-15 students
